ETS Selects Infinity Softworks to Provide Graphing Calculator Technology
Princeton, NJ -- February 22, 2005 -- ETS (Educational Testing Service) has selected Infinity Softworks, Inc., the leader in calculator and analysis software for handheld computers, to provide graphing calculator technology that will be incorporated into the companyĆs innovative computer-based (CBT), and forthcoming, Internet-based (iBT) testing platforms.
Infinity Softworks will be tailoring their graphing calculator "powerOne® Graph" so that it can be offered as a feature in both the CBT and iBT computer-based test delivery platforms. Plans call for the software solution to be non-platform specific.
The technology will be used in situations that require a graphing calculator during testing. At the point in the test where such a calculator is required, a software version of their powerOne Graph calculator will appear onscreen, eliminating the need for test takers to provide their own calculators. The first release of this technology is expected in the first quarter of 2006.
"We conducted considerable research among all of the industryĆs top technology providers and no one but Infinity Softworks had the capability and expertise to deliver what we need," says Peggy DiFranco, Project Manager at ETS. "Infinity representatives understood what we needed, offered us a customized solution, and offered to accomplish it in the timeframe required."
"We are proud to provide ETS a key piece of software for their computer-based and internet-based examination environments," said Elia Freedman, CEO of Infinity Softworks. "Embedding our technology allows students to focus on the test, provides calculating resources right at hand, and improves the overall experience."
