Infinity Softworks Propels powerOne™ Graph into Vanguard with Advanced, New Features
Beaverton, OR -- August 18, 2004 -- Infinity Softworks, Inc. today announced the release of an upgrade, version 4.2, for powerOne Graph, graphing-scientific calculator software. powerOne Graph brings TI-83/84 functionality to a Palm OS handheld computer, taking advantage of the handheld computer's touch-screen, color and improved usability.
"Again and again, we listen to and provide the advanced functionality that our users are requesting," said Elia Freedman, CEO of Infinity Softworks. "In this way, powerOne Graph users continue to have the best user and feature experience on their Palm OS devices."
The new version includes the following additions:
- Function and polar equations can reference another graph equation by name.
- Crop data while in the Graph view.
- Derivative graphing analysis now includes second derivative.
- Maximum and minimum limits for graphing function equations.
- Changed how calculus functions handled tolerance.
- Added first and third quartile to the calculator function list.
- Improved integral function for increased precision.
- Implicit multiplication.
- Polynomial root finding.
- Out of the box, now supports 160x160, 320x320, 320x480, 480x320 and 160x520 display sizes. 160x520 for graph window only.
Education customers in particular keep pushing the envelope on what they want their handheld to provide in the math and science arena. By combining powerOne Graph and a handheld computer, each student can carry a computer for class and learn a critical tool used in life after school.
"My students love using powerOne Graph," said Paula Jameson, Technology Curriculum Resource Teacher with Green Middle School in Ohio. "Since they started using powerOne Graph and handheld computers three years ago, the students are more interested in mathematics and look forward to class."
